I loved the atomic pictures of a teacher’s practice. His research has found that teacher’s behaviour indicates that they believe:
– Learning is listening
– Teaching is telling
– Knowledge is an object
– The mind is a container
– To be educated is to know valuable content

I want to use this in pd with my staff and see if we can work out our collective beliefs – but, as Yoram says – it’s not what they say, but what they do in the classroom that indicates what they really believe.
